Port Blair, Aug 19: Commodore Superintendent of Naval Ship Repair Yard, Andaman and Nicobar Command, Commodore DK Goswami along with four other officers of the Yard, scaled Saddle Peak, the highest peak in the Islands on the occasion Independence Day. They unfolded the National Flag on the saddle peak to commemorate the 70th Independence Day. Braving the inclement weather, the officers trekked up the treacherous climb despite heavy rains and mud slide in a time span of less than eight hours. The expedition formed part of various adventure activities undertaken by men in uniform in the Andaman and Nicobar Command to enrich the spirit of national integration, espirit-de-corps and camaraderie.
