Port Blair, May 25: Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Minister of State for Agriculture & Food Processing Industries Govt. of India visited Garacharma Research Complex of CARI today in the forenoon to see the research activities of the Institute and interact with the scientists.
Immediately on his arrival he visited Dweep Krishi Darpan wherein Dr. D.R. Singh, Director, CARI showed the research, development and extension activities of the Institute displayed in the exhibition hall which was followed by a power point presentation. Thereafter he interacted with the scientist and expressed his happiness on the work done in the field of biodiversity conservation and livelihood options after tsunami. He also planted a sapling of coconut and Noni in the campus.
