Port Blair, Aug 12: This is to inform that as per the direction of GoI for ensuring transparency of information sharing and maintaining of database for all societies/associations/youth clubs/temple committees/mahila mandals/churches/mosque/schools registered under Society Registration Act 1860 of South Andaman District are directed to submit the following details to this office within 15 days of publication of this press note i.e. by 27.8.2016.
(i) Detail of PAN of the Society
(ii) Bank Account No. of the Society.
(iii) Aadhaar No. of the office bearers of the Society.
(iv) Contact details, including phone No. and e-mail ID of the Society as well as office bearers.
Further, it is also informed that all societies registered with Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) office should mandatorily enrol the society in the NGO portal created by the GoI and submit a confirmation to this effect within 30 days.
Non compliance may result in action as per law against the society.
PCCF wildlife visits various locations in South Andaman
Port Blair, Aug 12: The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Shri M.S. Negi, was on visit to various locations in South Andaman district to take stock of measures and preparedness of department to tackle human crocodile conflict.
During his visit to Corbyn’s Cove, New Wandoor and Mundapahar, he had directed the DCF(WL) and DFO(SA) to place more signage board on proper usage of safe swimming zone, to prohibit swimming outside it and he desired to repair the nets wherever necessary before commencement of tourist season to ensure the safety of tourist visiting those areas.
Further, while on visit to Collinpur Panchayat, he had interacted with Pradhan and public on crocodile related issues, where he was appraised about presence of crocodiles in the Creeks/Nallah of Collinpur and Manpur by Shri Mahadev Majhi, Pradhan, Collinpur and he also requested for departments intervention to avoid any untoward incidents by crocodiles.
The PCCF directed the staff to recce the area for presence of animal and to drive them out of human inhabited creek areas if found. He also visited Manpur Govt. School where Forest Department had established 100 mtrs chain link fence along creek to avoid school pupils from entering the creeks. Meanwhile, local public and school authority desired that a permanent compound wall for ensuring safety of school children who are at risk of entering creek. Accordingly, the PCCF assured that concerned authority will be informed for taking necessary action.
PCCF impressed upon to regulate waste disposal in villages in a manner to avoid human animal conflict, as the crocodiles are being attracted towards the waste that are being dumped into creeks and Nallahs near human habitation.
