Port Blair, Aug 3: All the candidates who have qualified in the swimming test conducted at Swimming pool-Netaji Stadium and swimming & running test conducted at Carbyn’s Cove beach recently have been directed to contact Planning Section of Directorate of Tourism, Port Blair, for payment of fees, on or before Aug 8, 2016 to attend the following courses.
Selected trainees for the 5-day Lifesaving Technique-Watersports (LST-WS) will have to deposit fee of Rs 4500/-, for Powerboat Handling – Tiller (PBH-T) (5 day) Rs 4500 and for Surf Lifesaving Techniques – Silver (SLST-S) (12-days) Rs 12000/- in advance by way of demand draft in favor of National Institute of Water Sports, payable at Panaji and fees once deposited shall not be refunded.
The candidates have also been advised to confirm, whether they have submitted all the relevant documents like medical fitness certificate duly issued by a registered medical practitioner, copy of Date of Birth certificate, copy of Photo ID-Aadhaar card/Election card/Islander card, four nos. of passport size photographs and complete address, with contact phone no./mobile no. If they have not submitted the same, it has to be submitted on or before 08.08.2016.
It may be noted that mere participation in the course shall not entail the trainees to get certificates. Only successful trainees would be given certificates and licenses, as the case may be. As per the Rules, trainees failing to meet stipulated standards would have to appear again for Re-test at a location as decided by the NIWS, within 03 months from the last day of the said course. The licenses & certificates are valid for 02 years and shall have to be renewed within stipulated period for further use. Date of commencement of the training course will be intimated through print media and bulk SMS and no individual communication will be made in this regard.
