Port Blair, Aug 01: Along with the rest of the Islands, the 67th Van Mohotsava was celebrated by the Carmel Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair with grand function organised on 30th July 2016. Smti Nabanita Ganguly, Divisional Forest Officer had graced the occasion as the chief guest. The day also marked the culmination of the weeklong activities, programmes, competitions that were organised as part of the celebration.
To mark the Van Mohotsav celebrations, the Spice Club of the school conducted weeklong competitions in the school auditorium viz. Quiz on ‘Environment and Peace’ for Class XI & XII, Power Point Presentation on ‘Conserve Mother Nature’ for Class IX & X, Speech competition on ‘Van Mohotsav’ for Class V- VIII and recitation competition on ‘Nature’ for classes I-V, which witnessed a good number of participation by the students. A prize distribution ceremony was organised by the School, wherein the Chief Guest, Smti Nabanita Ganguly distributed the prizes to the winners. The Van Mohotsav celebrations later concluded with a ceremonial tree planting by the Chief Guest in the presence of Spice Club leaders and the Principal of the school.
