Port Blair, July 29: The Andaman and Nicobar AIDS Control Society in association with Fire Service (HQ) organised training programme for mainstreaming HIV/AIDS, STDs, Blood Donation and its related issues on Friday. More than 70 fire service’s personnel attended the programme. Mr B. Saigal, Chief Fire Officer, A & N Islands was the chief guest of the programme. The meeting was conducted under the leadership of Dr. R.K. Halder, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society.
In his address, Mr Girish Kumar, AD (SPM), ANACS informed about the causes and the consequences of the HIV/AIDS-STDs and the measures and steps to prevent the disease and to achieve the objective of zero HIV/AIDS. He also motivated the gathering for voluntary blood donation and shared the importance as well as benefits of blood donation
