Port Blair, July 22: A team of NHIDCL officials led by Shri Anand Kumar, MD, NHIDCL called on the Lt Governor, Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd), at Raj Niwas on 22.07.2016. They apprised the Lt Governor about the deliberations held during the course of the day with different stakeholders.
They informed that NHIDCL would be taking up the up-gradation of National Highway (ATR) in the stretch between 12 km to 45 km and 240 km to 298 km.
The issue of two bridges on the ATR and the bridge between Bambooflat and Chatham were also discussed. On the later bridge the Lt Governor will discuss the requirement of the ANC with C-in-C shortly to resolve it.
Earlier, the team held a meeting under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary in the conference hall of Secretariat, where senior officers of CRRI, MoRTH, Forest, Revenue and APWD of the Administration and the Member of Parliament were present. During the meeting various issues relating to NH-223 (ATR) were discussed.
