Port Blair, July 20: The Army & Naval Unit NCC paid tribute to Martyr Capt. Ashim Kumar Bhattacharjee by garlanding his bust at Capt. Ashim Kr. Battacharaya Park at Junglighat today. The late Capt. was an Ex-NCC cadet (Army) from JNRM College. He made the supreme sacrifice on 20th July while fighting militants in J&K.
For his act of gallantry, he was awarded Sena Medal Posthumously.
The solemn day was also observed by planting saplings followed by a Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan in the presence of NCC staffs and ANO’s at the premises of the Park.
