Port Blair, July 15: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat organized block level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament Programme on Thursday at Seva Sangha Club, Bakultala in order to develop platform of youth clubs further in the shape of vibrant ‘neighbourhood youth parliament’ so as to educate the youth club members about contemporary socio-economic development issues confronting local communities in general and the youth in particular and to involve them in debate/discussions on such issues. The programme was participated by 80 youths from the different villages of Rangat block and the programme was inaugurated by Mr Biswajit Mondal, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Urmilapur in presence of Mr Anil Bepari, Zilla Parisad Member, Bakultala, Mr K. Deven Rao, Ex Zilla Parisad Member, Bakultala.
The chief guest in her address said that we should gain knowledge about the scheme and programme of Govt. of India and disseminate the information among villagers for their benefit. Under the programme National Flagship Programme viz. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, MUDRA Bank, Swachh Bharat Mission, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan, Digital India, Make in India, Skill India, Importance of yoga, discussion on local issues etc. topics were covered and delivered by various resource persons Shri C.K. Paul, Rtd PGT and National Awardee, Rangat, Shri J. Joga Rao, Industries Promotion Officer, Bakultala, Miss S.H. Naga Kumari, PET, Kalsi and Shri Anup Kumar Biswas, Ex- National Youth Corp, NYK, Rangat.
Discussion on various local issues i.e. Health & Sanitation, Environment Conservation, Volunteerism etc. and sharing their experience were also done by the participants on the occasion. Earlier, Mr Alphonce Toppo, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Rangat welcomed and briefed about the programme. Mr Sudhir Kumar Toppo, ACT, NYK, Rangat proposed the vote of thanks.
