Port Blair, July 15: The Navy Children School here celebrated its 20th anniversary on Friday. The school was established on 15 Jul 96. Over the course of its existence, the school has several achievements to its credit. It has been the recipient of the ‘Best Senior Secondary School (Urban)’ for five continuous years from 2011, Island Topper for 2014-15 and Best Navy Children School (Science Stream) under the Navy Education Society for 2013-14. The school has witnessed an exponential growth from 105 students, six teachers in 1996 providing education upto class-V to a present strength of about 1000 students and 52 teachers providing education upto Class-XII. The school also organised a ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ to mark the occasion. The event was inaugurated by Smt Richi Garg, President, Naval Wives Welfare Association (NWWA).
