Port Blair, July 13: Industrial Training Institute, Dollygunj is celebrating “Skill India Week” from 11th to 15th July 2016 and “World Youth Skill Day” on 15th July 2016. On this occasion the Institute has chalked out various programmes in which a rally was organized from Bathu Basti Parking area to Garacharama Basti on 11.07.2016 at 10:00 AM. The rally was flagged off by the Labour Commissioner & Director of Employment and Training and the Principal, ITI. Further, a Skill India Campaign was arranged at Panchayat Hall Ferrargunj on 12.07.2016 at 10.00 AM to sensitize the local youths to take up vocational education as their carrier for gainful employment. Shri. M. Munashwaran, Pradhan, Ferrargunj Gram Panchayat presided over the campaign in which the Labour Commissioner & Director of Employment and Training stressed the need on providing quality training to the local youths for their gainful employment and the Principal, ITI spoke on various courses provided by the Govt. of India for the benefit of the youths. Two members from Brindaban pancahyat also participated in the campaign which was attended by local youths of Ferrargunj panchayat.
Apart from the above, a free Training-cum-Placement drive (Kaushal Mela) for Larsen & Toubro-Construction Skill Training Institute, Kanchipuram and Enrolment of candidates in various Modular Employable skill (MES) under Skill Development Initiative (SDI) Scheme is being organized by ITI, Dollygunj on 15.07.2016 at 09:00 AM in its Multipurpose Hall on the occasion of “World Youth Skills Day”.
The significance of the above programme is to create awareness in skilling, vocational education amongst the youths of the country and make them feel that by skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling, they became an integral part of the growth story of India. The celebration of Skill India Week Campaign is another important milestone towards achieving the objectives of skilling with speed, scale and standards across the country. This event will encourage the youths to enrol themselves in various Skill oriented training programmes.
