Port Blair, July 12: The Inter School Football Knockout tournament for U-14 (Boys) and U-17 (Boys & Girls), organized by Directorate of Education got underway on Tuesday at three different venues i.e. at Netaji Stadium, JNRM Football ground and GSSS Bathubasthi School ground. Mr Mammen Thomas, Deputy Director Education (Sc.) kicked off the event at Netaji Stadium. In his brief address, he on the importance of such competition and congratulated the participants for getting chance for representing the school and also blessed for better performance.
In the matches played today at JNRM Soccer Ground, MS Sagaritare defeated GSSS Haddo by two goals to nil, GSSS School Line beat GMS Laltha Singh Ground by four goals to nil, SSS KV 1 defeated GSS South Point by 3-0 and GSS Dairyfarm beat GSS Delanipur by a solitary goal. In the matches played at GSSS Bhatu Basti School Ground, GSSS Bhatu Basti, GSSS Manglutan and GSSS Rangachang beat their respective opponents while at Netaji Stadium, SSS NCS rout GSSS RBV by eight goals to one.
