Port Blair, July 10: As per the direction of Government of India, all the beneficiaries availing pension/allowances under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)/Old Age Pension/Widow Pension/Destitute Allowances and Disability Allowances schemes implemented by the Social Welfare Department are required to be covered under Direct Benefit Transfer for which their Bank Account should be seeded with Aadhar. Accordingly, the Department had issue notices in the past requesting all concerned to submit their Aadhar No. in the respective Office of Child Development Project Officer or in the office of Directorate of Social Welfare by 05th July, 2016.
It has been observed from the records that there are still a large number of beneficiaries who are availing financial assistances from the Department of Social Welfare have failed to submit their Aadhar Nos. It is clarified for the information of the concerned that Non-seeding of Bank Account with Aadhar will lead to delay in sanction of pension/allowances from the month of July, 2016, till the receipt of Aadhar.
All beneficiaries who have not submitted their Aadhar so far are once again requested to submit the same without fail by July 15, 2016 with the respective Child Development Project Officer or directly at the Directorate of Social Welfare.
