Port Blair, July 04: An emergency meeting of the Central Executive Committee alongwith Vice Presidents and Secretaries of the Branches and Sub-Committees of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officer’s Association was held on 02.7.2016 at Crusade House, Port Blair to take stock of the situation arising out of the unilateral decision of the Central Govt. to implement the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations without any modifications.
The meeting unanimously decided to support the proposed ALL INDIA STRIKE by Central Govt. employees. The National Joint Council of Action(NJCA), New Delhi has called for a Nation-wide Strike from 11th July,2016 onwards demanding settlement of the Charter of Demands including the 7th CPC issues viz.- improvement of mimimum wages from Rs. 18000/- to Rs.26000/- and enhancement of Fitment Formula of 2.57, improvement & continuation of all allowances, interest free advances, 5 promotion/MACP scrapping of NPS etc. 33 lakh Central Govt. employees and workers are expected to participate in the indefinite Strike.
The meeting of Non-Gazetted Govt. officers’ Association decided to organise massive agitations from 11th July, 2016 onwards all over the islands in support of the strike. Accordingly, a massive demonstration will be held in the Entrance Gate of the Secretariat from 11th July, 2016 onwards.
Similar programmes will be organised at outstations by the Branch Committees at their headquarters.
