Port Blair, June 23: On 23.06.2016 at 0600 hrs SI Aditya Narayan, SHO PS Billiground and ASI Amit Kumar of PS Billiground along with Police party while on special traffic checking at Dhani Nallah, Betapur intercepted a Maruti Car bearing Reg. No. AN-01/F-2911 at Dhani Nallah which was coming from Rangat. On search of the car, it was found that the car was carrying 120 Nos. 750 ml bottles of Bagpiper Deluxe Whiskey co-sealed. On enquiry from the driver and associate of the car, they could not produce any valid license or permit as such all the above 120 IMFL bottles and Car bearing Reg. No. AN-01/F-2911 were seized and both the persons namely (1) Anbanathan S/o Late Vellathi (25) yrs R/o Rangat and (2) G.John S/o Shri. M.Gabrial (21) yrs pvt. Worker R/o Sabri, Rangat were arrested from the spot. In this regard, a case under Regulation III of 1876 has been registered at Police Station Billiground and is under investigation. The above recovery was done under the close supervision of Shri. Ajay Kumar Rai, SDPO Rangat.
