Port Blair, June 19: To highlight the significance of yoga in relation to the performing arts of India and to commemorate the second International Yoga Day, the Department of Art & Culture will organize a State Level programme on June 21 at 6.30 pm at DBRAIT Auditorium, Dollygunj. The Lt. Governor, A & N Islands will be the chief guest on the occasion.
A befitting Cultural programme titled ‘Sangam’-Yoga, sankriti aur virasat ko samarpit ek shaam comprising of classical and contemporary dances and music will be presented on the occasion .The artists of cultural organizations from the islands namely Kailashpathy Classical Dance Academy, Sur –Saptak, A Sangeet Academy, Jhumurr Nrityangan ,Ankur –socio Cultural organization and KRG Kalai Kaveri School will perform in the programme . Kathak dancers from the Natya STEM Dance Kampni, Bangalore deputed by South Zone Cultural Centre and headed by Ms Ramya Nagraj will present Kathak dance in relation to yoga during the programme. Besides, the visiting artists of Sleepwell Foundation will perform sufi music on the occasion.
