Port Blair, June 19: The HQ Andaman and Nicobar Command received a message from the Director Health Services for the Medical Evacuation of a pregnant lady from Car Nicobar late in the night on Friday. The HQ ANC immediately informed Air Force Station Car Nicobar and an IAF Dornier aircraft was readied for take-off by 2330 hrs for evacuation of the patient.
The lady was safely evacuated to Port Blair by 0055 hrs on the night of 17/18 June and further transferred to GB Pant hospital by ambulance which was waiting at Port Blair airport. The quick response of the HQ ANC has once again come to the rescue of the Islanders and saved precious lives.
