Port Blair, June 19: The LG visited Havelock Island on Saturday, the 18th of June, 2016, and held a meeting with PRI members, all Executive Agencies, and general public. The meeting was convened by the DC (SA), and held at Panchayat Bhavan, Shyam Nagar Panchayat at 12.30 pm.
The issues raised in the previous meeting held in March were reviewed and discussed department wise. Problems such as electricity and water supply, along with their solutions were discussed, and directions were given.
APWD informed that the road from Jetty to Dolphin Resort has been built, Toilet Block in Middle School, Krishna Nagar is due to be completed as per deadline of 1/7/2016. 3 sites for water storage tanks have been identified, for which proposal has been put up.
Issues related to Shipping department, BSNL, Education department and sanitation, including the dumping yards, were also flagged and duly resolved, and time bound directions were given.
