Port Blair, May 31: The Science Model ‘Disaster Saver- A life saving kit’ developed by the student of Model Senior Secondary School Port Blair has been taking part in the ongoing IRIS Mentoring Camp at the Periyar Science and Technology Institute Chennai.
Mentor Prof. D. M. Mamtha of Tirupati University is guiding the project. The upgraded project will be observed and tested by the scientists and will be sent to National exhibition at New Delhi and then to U.S.A.
The Model has been developed by P. Sarvanan a student of class XII under the guidance of Shri Chanchal Dey, PGT Chemistry.
Earlier the Model represented A&N Islands in the 103rd Edition of the Prestigious National Science Congress held at University of Mysore Karnataka in January this year.
The Mega event was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Many Noble Laureates, renowned Scientists of the world were invited as Special guests who conducted Seminars on the different topics for the young Scientists.
The Model presented by Sarvanan was much appreciated by the visitors. Total 86 working models from the different parts of country were displayed at Science Congress.
