Port Blair, May 30: Andaman Sai Seva Samiti is serving the community of all levels in these Islands. Working the steps, the Samiti released an amount of rupees 9000/- a six months pension to Smti. Champa Mondal, a widow, resident of Manjeri, South Andaman.
Smti Champa is facing hardship in taking care of her four children after her husband left for heavenly abode.
The Samiti is paying an amount of rupees 1500/- per month as a financial assistance to this family for ration articles and other needy house hold items.
The Andaman Sai Seva Samiti has also committed to provide a financial assistance to poor and needy brilliant students of any caste, creed or community of these Islands for higher education.
This Samiti is conducting and organizing numerous Sai welfare programs for the needy as distribution of school kits to needy rural area students includes school bags, notebooks, shoes and uniforms; Blood donation camps at various localities and still now more than 300 units provided to Blood Bank, G.B Pant Hospital, Port Blair; Health Camps for Heart related diseases and Eye Camps at Rangat, Diglipur and various locations at south Andaman; Activities for World Peace and Harmony: Special puja on 1st Thursday of every new year at all Shirdi Sai Baba Temples includes Campbell Bay, Great Nicobar ,Mayabunder ; A financial assistance to poor and needy widows residing at Rutland ,South Andaman and Manjeri bearing an amount of Rs 42000/- per year; Free Tuition Centre at Saraswari Sishu Vidya Mandir school campus: Every year this Samiti provides free coaching to needy and poor students; Financial assistance to needy patients, this samiti providing all study materials per year to Love Children Home, Indira Nagar, Manglutan since two years, costing more than Rs.1,20,000/- and roofing materials to Seva Niketan Dairy Farm costs 80,000/-during 2014.
