Diglipur, 26 May: Administration of Diglipur Sub Division today organised a Workshop on De-addiction at conference hall of administrative building. Asst Commissioner Shri A K Trivedi inaugurated the camp by lightening the lamp. BDO Mrs Lalita Tigga highlighted the various addictions of people of Diglipur specially the youth and its impact on society.
Asst Commissioner speaking on this occasion said that “responsibility of the reasons for addiction should be fixed, due to lack of scope for various entertainment fields the general public addicted to various bad addictions, even heard that school children also attending school after consuming liquor. The ladies of the family is having main role to curb these addictions. They have to sense the addiction and then reason and then treatment of the addiction by various means. If need counselling go for it,” he said.
CMO Dr (Mrs) Jay Biswas said that “Alcohol addiction among youth is increasing irrespective of sex but if civil society and other bodies like Drug Controller, Police and District Administration play proactive role, the menace could be done away with completely”.“Need of the hour is to make our society strong and healthy, which is one such menace which should be dealt on priority by the society.”
Asst Engineer APWD Shri Siddappa, Pramukh Diglipur, Dr Nikhil, Dr Nitai Mondal, Pradhan Subhashgram, Diglipur and Sitanagar and mukhasevika, heath workers, and Anganwadi teachers comprised of the audience who were made aware of various psychosocial, medical and sociological effects of substance abuse by various experts from medical fraternity, psychological and civil society during this programme.
