Port Blair, May 23: To give a boost to the ‘Start Up India’ program of Government of India and encourage more women to become entrepreneurs, the Directorate of Industries in association with SBI-RSETI will organizes a weeklong Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP). The programme was formally inaugurated on Monday in the training Hall of SBI-RSETI, Port Blair, by Smt. Rashmi Singh, Secretary (Industries).
In her address, Smt. Rashmi Singh dwelt deep into road which the trainees had to travel to be a successful entrepreneur. She stressed the need to get over the initial teething problems to bloom into full fledged entrepreneurs. She hoped to see a good percentage of the trainees adopting entrepreneurship as a career option.
Mr Ajit Anand, Director of Industries (I/C), appealed all the trainees to take full benefit of the programme and emerge as empowered women empowered group. Mr Aloke Kumar Saha, Regional Manager, SBI, advised the trainees to make it an interactive session so that whatever they learn during the training will be ingrained in their memory. Mr Goutam Chakroborty, Director, SBI-RSETI proposed the vote of thanks.
Altogether, 70 trainees are participating int he EDP which will be conducted in two batches from May 23-28 and from May 30 to June 4. The target participants are trainees of the Industries Department’s Training Centres, SAGY trainees and direct applicants. The first batch of trainees is all women batch.
