Port Blair, May 17: A delegation of tsunami affected farmers today proceeded to New Delhi at 11.00 AM from Port Blair along with the Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, to meet the Prime Minister of India and other senior Ministers and top level officers of different ministry.
According to information received here the farmers’ delegation, upset with A & N Administration, has already got appointment to meet the Prime Minister of India on 18.05.2012 at 12.00 noon and the Mr. Salman Khursheed , Minister of Corporate Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs at 9.00 AM.
“Out demand is simple, we don’t want to surrender our land against the compensation. We have already got an appointment to meet PM tomorrow and we are looking forward to place our demand strongly infornt of the PM,” Rajesh Kumar Lall, the General Secretary of Gram Vikas Samity told Andaman Sheekha today.
The farmers are also planning to meet the Home Minister, Finance Minister, Defense Minister, Health Minister, Mr. P.L.Punia, Chairperson National Commission for schedule Caste Smti. Sonia Gandhi, UPA, Chairperson, Mr. L.K.Advani & the other concerned.
The Delegation comprised of Mr. Rajesh Kumar Lall, Mr.Gopal Das, Mr. Shiv Prasad, Mr. Mohammed Ali, Mr. N.Mohammed, Mr. Naresh Lal, Mr. Nepal Paik, Mr. Bhagat Ram, Mr. Rajesh E.S and Mr. Chandrasekar Gupta.
