Port Blair, May 17: The Port Blair Municipal Council has constituted a Municipal Task Force to evict unauthorized occupation or obstructions in the markets owned by Port Blair Municipal Council. Mr Sanath Kumar Chakraborthy, Assistant Engineer (SWM) will lead the team with Mr Ajay Kishen, Senior Sanitary Inspector, Mr Abdul Salim, Assessor and concerned Junior Engineer (Works) as members.
The task force will conduct regular drive to ward off infringement on the passages or pathways that cause obstacle to pedestrians, curb illegal encroachment of public spaces and government land and re-invigorate the aesthetics of the city. The Municipal Task Force will also liaise with District Level Task Force for removal of unauthorized squatters/vendors as and when required.
