Port Blair, May 17: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, A&N Administration provides Veterinary health services through its Veterinary Hospitals, Veterinary Sub-Dispensaries and Veterinary Sub-Dispensaries.
To reach more number of livestock and its owners and to ensure healthy and disease free animals in our UT, and also to keep up with the development activities of the administration, the department makes provision for expansion of the veterinary facilities in its short and long time plans.
There was a long pending demand from the residents of Madhupur-II area in Diglipur tehsil, North and Middle Andamans district, to establish a veterinary care centre in their vicinity as the increased road traffic was making it difficult to take large animals to the existing Veterinary Hospital at Navin Nagar. The construction work of Veterinary Sub-Dispensary (VSD), Madhupur was completed by the APWD, North Andamans and handed over to the Department in the month of May 2016.
The VSD was made operational on 05/05/2016 after its formal inauguration by Shri. Satish Nath, Executive Engineer, APWD, Diglipur in the presence of Shri. Shyamal Debnath, Pradhan, Madhupur, and Dr. Suresh Singh, Senior Veterinary Officer, North and Middle Andamans and Dr. Dulal Biswas, SVO, VH, Diglipur.
