Port Blair, May 16: The Annual General Body Meeting of Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank was held on 15.05.2016 at its Conference Hall. Shri. Bhagat Singh, Chairman, ANSCB was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Programme was also attended by Shri. Saroop Lall, Ex-Chairman, ANSCB, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman, ANSCB, Board of Directors, Members of PACS (Primary Agriculture Credit Societies) affiliated to ANSCB and Bank officials.
Welcoming the gathering, Shri. K Murugan, Chief General Manager of the bank expressed his whole hearted gratitude to all the members for attending the programme. He further stressed that ANSCB’s deposit portfolio has crossed Rs. 690 crores and Loan portfolio has touched Rs. 360 crores. The total turnover (business) of the bank has crossed Rs. 1050 Crores. A total no. of 16 ATMs are presently functional and the bank has introduced RTGS / NEFT facility and presently issuing Rupay branded ATM cards which are accessable in ATMs of all banks. The bank is presently working on Rupay POS (Point of Sale), Rupay KCC and IMPS (Immediate Mobile Payment System), which shall be introduced soon.
In his keynote address, Shri. Bhagat Singh, Chairman of the bank expressed his gratitude to all members of PACS, Board of Directors, Bank Staff and specially the public for their support and cooperation to ANSCB. He also highlighted that ANSCB has secured “Best Bank Award” from NAFSCOB for three consecutive years viz. 2012-13, 2013-14 & 2014-15 and thanked all members for their unconditional support.
Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, ANSCB welcomed all the delegates and presented the current financial parameters of the bank with respect to its financial position as on 31st March, 2016 and informed the House that ANSCB is financially sound in all significant financial parameters. He informed the house that the Deposit portfolio of the bank has seen a growth of 13 % which is above the National Average of 10 %. He also informed the house that ANSCB has entered into its Golden Jubilee this year (1966-2016). Further, the Managing Director took up the Agenda wise points of the General Body Meeting wherein detailed discussions were held and the General Body approved and adopted the necessary resolutions.
The delegate from PACS and various other Cooperative societies including representatives of Tribal Cooperative Societies have suggested various measures for improvement like Conduct of awareness camps at rural areas, Organising programmes to strengthen field level credit functionaries, Conduct of various sports & cultural activities to highlight banks various schemes and to penetration into unbanked areas, etc. They also suggested to give proper training to all Branch Managers for improvement of customer services and customer relationship.
