Port Blair, May 16: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Inland Vessel Rule 2016 has been notified vide gazette notification No. 02/2-16/F. No 13-14/2015-TR dated 06.01.2016. As per IV Rules 2016, all the mechanized boats are to be registered under IV Rules. For registration of FRP/OBM boats the OBM operators need to successfully complete (i) Power Boat Handling Certificate (ii) Lifesaving Techniques Certificate (iii) Capsule Certificate course. The Capsule Course will comprise of topics viz: Rules of Roads, Storm signal, Navigational mark, basics of First Aid, Lifesaving appliances and Firefighting Appliances and Communication.
Accordingly, second batch of mandatory Capsule Course will be conducted by DBRAIT and coordinated by Tourism Department, w.e.f. 18th to 21st May, 2016 at 09.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM in the Audio Visual Hall of DBRAIT at Dollygunj, Port Blair. The third batch w.e.f. 30th May to 02nd June, 2016 at 09.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM at Hawabill Nest, Neil Island. The course fee is Rs. 1,000/- per candidate. All the OBM boat operators are advised to reach at 08.30 AM, at the respective place, alongwith their two passport size photographs and copy of Power Boat Handling Certificate, for participating in the course.
