Port Blair, May 12: The Port Blair Municipal Council has plans to conduct recruitment and promotion drive soon to curb the adhoc appointment requests. List of all vacancies have been prepared and time bound action will be taken to conduct recruitment and DPCs for filling up the vacancies. Old adhoc appointments will be phased out as and when the vacancies are filled and no fresh adhoc appointments have been done in the recent past as claimed by a section in the local media by either FTA or by any officer. The existing vacancies will be filled up to stop the practice of adhoc appointments in future.
