Port Blair, May 09: On 5th May, 2016 Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament alongwith Smt. Sheela Singh, PBMC Chairperson and Secretary, PBMC met the Prime Minister in his chamber in Parliament House, Smt. Sheela Singh requested the Prime Minister to enhance the allocation of grant/fund according to the recommendation of 4th Finance Commission (UT) and devolution of powers to municipal body and requested him to visit Andaman. In reply Prime Minister assured to visit Andaman and asked Mrs Singh to submit the demands in written.
Further, the MP, A & N Islands, tried to contact the Minister of Urban Development Mr Venkaih Naidu and Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh, but due to ongoing Parliament session they could not meet them.
Later on they met Joint Secretary, MHA Mr Mukesh Makwana in North Block where Mrs. Sheela Singh requested to enhance the allocation of grant/fund according to the recommendation of 4th Finance Commission (UT) and devolution of powers to municipal body like PBMC.
