Port Blair, April 27: In spite of having designated parking spaces, commercial vehicles have been found parked on road side/Public Places congesting the available road space. Accordingly, commercial vehicle owners have been advised to park their vehicles in their designated parking space as mentioned in the permit of the vehicle and refrain from the practice of parking their vehicles on roads, footpaths etc. The roads and footpaths are meant exclusively for free flow of vehicular traffic & Pedestrians thereby capturing of roads, footpaths, pavements & way side amenities by illegal & unauthorized parking of vehicles is strict violation of MV Act.
The vehicle owners have been informed that any commercial vehicle found abandoned or left unattended on a public place or parked in a place other than its designated parking or where parking is legally prohibited will warrant action under section 127 & Section 86 of the MV Act 1988.
