Jeep with 12 passengers turns Turtle

Billyground, May 13: Eight people got minor injuries while three others sustained serious injuries when a Jeep with 12 passengers turned turtle at Betapur on Saturday morning.
According to details available here the jeep was coming from South Creek area of Baratang with 12 passengers, among whom there was newly married couple. At 6.25 am the driver of the Jeep lost control for some reasons and the jeep jumped off the road, injuring the Bridegroom seriously and 10 others. The newly married bride also sustained minor injuries. The jeep was going towards Diglipur.
As the news of the accident spread like wild fire villagers from Shivapuram, Middle Andaman, immediately came for rescue and shifted all injured passengers to PHC Billyground, where they were give treatment by Medical Incharge DR.(Mrs) Sussaima. The Ayurvedic Doctor Dr. Singh also extended his helping hand in the treatment. Later three serious patients were shifted to Port Blair’s G B Pant Hospital. Passengers however alleged that the driver was drunk. Meanwhile a case has been registered in this regard.
