Little Andaman, Apr 21: Although the BSNL is claiming that the internet connectivity has improved in Andamans but in reality things have become worse in many parts of these Islands.
Extremely poor services of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in Little Andaman are frustrating for the people as concerned officers of this Government owned telecom company has virtually turned a Nelson’s eye towards the problems being encountered by the subscribers.
Whether it is mobile phone service or internet connectivity, the poor signal strength and slow speed are general complaints of the BSNL subscribers, who are paying huge amount to the company as revenue but getting extremely low quality services. The people of Little Andaman are still deprived of Broadband connection as the BSNL A&N Islands is running short of capacity.
Poor services of BSNL are subjecting its subscribers nightmarish experiences, particularly during the emergency hours. In last seven days mobile internet connection was terribly slow.
Not only the slow internet speed but poor signal strength of mobile phones also is another feature of the BSNL in Little Andaman where you have to connect a number of times for making a single call.
Ironically, despite repeated appeals of the people for improvement in services, all such pleas are paid no heed by the concerned BSNL officers for whom the subscribers are only meant for minting money. Hope that instead of claiming big the BSNL will take some concrete steps to provide atleast basic internet facilities in a large Island like Hut Bay.
