Port Blair, April 19: The Non-Government Association, Island Protection Forum, hosted a function at Hotel Sunrise to felicitate the Member of Parliament from Bhopal, Mr Alok Sanjaar, currently on a family trip to these islands. In his brief address, the Bhopal MP said that visiting the Andaman and Nicobar Islands was one of his long cherished and recalled his association with some members of the Island Protection Forum.
Stating that the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands played a crucial role in his journey towards becoming the Member of Parliament, Mr Sanjaar said that visiting Cellular Jail is the top pilgrimage destination for every Indian citizen.
In his address, the President, Island Protection Forum, Mr TM Mustafa hailed the support rendered by the Bhopal MP to the Forum for the past several years. “In every time of need, Mr Alok Sanjaar stood behind the Island Protection Forum and extended support in all possible ways.” Mr Mustafa also urged the Bhopal MP to request the Madhya Pradesh Government to reserve some M.Ed, Medical and Engineering seats for the students of these islands to which Mr Sanjaar assured all possible help from his side.
