Port Blair, May 11: Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM, Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has directed the A & N Police to crack down all vehicles including government vehicles using artificial films by 15 May 2012. The Apex Court has prohibited the use of black films of any visual light transmission percentage of any material upon the safety glasses, front and rear wind screens and side glasses of all vehicles throughout the country. Only the manufacturer of the vehicle can manufacture the vehicles with tinted glasses which have Visual Light Transmission of specified percentages. No black film or any other material can be pasted on the wind screen or side glasses of the vehicles. Stringent action will be taken against offenders in this regard.
