Baratang, Apr 17: Two people sustained serious injuries today when a car came off the road and hit a road side electric pole at South Creek area of Baratang Island. The accident took place at around 5.30 am.
According to sources there were three people inside the car and the person driving the car sustained serious injuries on his chest while another person got one hand fractured. The third person reportedly survived the accident with minor injuries.
All three persons were rushed to the Primary Health Centre of Baratang from where they were referred to Port Blair’s G B Pant Hospital.
As per details the car was being driven at very high speed and the driver slept on the wheel. The car, coming from Billyground area of Middle Andaman was heading towards Jirkatang Check post.
