Port Blair, April 15: A missing report of a lady was received on Wednesday and later an information regarding a dead body being found at Sippighat by unknown persons was received at Police Station Humfrigunj. Accordingly, a case vide crime No. 27/16 u/s 302 IPC was registered at Police Station Humfrigunj.
Police team, senior officers alongwith experts rushed to the spot and conducted thorough inspection. After detailed investigation and interrogation of suspects, a 40 yrs old accused woman namely Meera Devi W/o Mr Biranchee Pal Kusha R/o Sippighat was arrested, who had committed the crime. Massive efforts were undertaken by the South Andaman Police, who spared no effort in ensuring that the culprit was arrested. Further investigation of the case is in progress. The accused has been produced before the Court of CJM.
General public have been requested to pass on such information of all illegal activities to the nearest Police Station of South Andaman District or PCR (100).
