Port Blair, Apr 04: Soon wearing helmet for pillion rider, even for kids will be mandatory in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Following several deadly accidents in city and reports of rash driving of bikes by kids, the traffic police is going to make helmet mandatory for all, riding a two wheeler.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha the Dy.S.P of Traffic unit Mr. Umar today said that rash driving by youngsters is a major cause of accidents in city. “I request all the parents to make children understand about the road accidents because of rash driving. Parents should keep an eye on children and make them understand to driver slow even if they are late,” Mr. Umar added.
The Dy.S.P said that soon the Traffic Department will send official request to Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman for making Helmets mandatory for pillion riders.
