Port Blair, Mar 31: Dozens and Dozens of public today staged protest infront of DSS office this afternoon for not getting tickets for Vizag bound passenger ship MV Nicobar.
People, who were in queue for nearly last two days outside the campus of Shipping Services today alleged that when they were allowed inside the ticketing counter the counter was closed too early and they were told all tickets are sold out.
While talking to Andaman Sheekha many of the fuming passengers alleged black-marketing of tickets while other alleged that such shortage of tickets is due to negligence of Directorate of Shipping Services as half of the mainland bound ships are either in dry-dock or are under repair.
“We waited for two nights outside this campus for tickets braving mosquitoes and rain so that I can take my kid to mainland for treatment but because of this horrible ticketing system, they issued tickets for my kid but not for the mother. They say there are no tickets. Now should I send my kid alone in the ship to Mainland?,” questioned an angry passenger.
