Port Blair, Feb 11: The local leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party, A & N islands, accorded a warm welcome to the Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology and National President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Mr Anurag Singh Thakur on his arrival at VSI airport here on Thursday.
Mr Thakur, later, met the BJP State President, Mr Vishal Jolly, State BJYM leaders and other senior party workers. In the meeting, State BJP President demanded construction of an International level Cricket Stadium with coaching facility in these islands. Mr Anurag Thakur being the Honorary Secretary of BCCI agreed to do so either with the help of BCCI or with the help of any other agency.
Mr Vishal also took up the matter of lacklustre attitude of Bankers of these Islands in implementing ‘Mudra Bank Yojna’ in true spirit. He added that youth of these Islands are not getting the full benefits of the scheme. As such the unemployed youths are unable to reap the benefits of this flagship programme of NDA Government. Mr Thakur assured to take up the matter at appropriate forum to ensure that benefits of the government scheme reach the unemployed youth of these islands.
