Port Blair, Apr 07: Air Cmde BV Upadhyay has taken over as Air Force Component Commander, (Andaman & Nicobar Command) from Air Cmde G Rambabu Vayu Sena Medal on 07 May 12. An alumunus of the NDA, Air Cmde BV Upadhyay was commissioned in the transport stream of IAF on 07 Jun 1986.
A graduate of the Defence Services Staff college in France, Air Cmde BV Upadhyay, in a distinguished career spanning 26 years, has flown over 6800 hrs on various transport aircrafts including AN-32 and IL-76. He has held various important appointments including in charge of the Transport Air Operations in Western Air Command and Commanding Officer of the Paratroopers Training School.
