Port Blair, Feb 01: In an interesting turn of event the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC Corporators, who were in news for Junket in Andaman, have launched a counter attack on journalists and lodged a police complaint of harassment against Times Now journalists.
The complaints has been lodged by the Mayor of BMC, Snahal Ambekar, BMC house leader Trishna Vishwasrao and two other corporators in Aberdeen Police Station of Port Blair city this afternoon.
The two page long written complaint against journalists of ‘Times Now’ says that the media team has been following them since day one and today they touched them while taking interview.
Following this the Times Now team was called at P S Aberdeen by A & N Police for a written statement but later the statement was not recorded for unknown reasons.
Mr. Sabbir Ahmed, who is heading three member team of Times Now, claimed it to be an attack on free media for highlighting crucial news of junket politicians making merry with tax-payers’ money.
Later the Times Now team also met the Director General of Police to clarify the matter.
Meanwhile remaining two teams of BMC corporators have left Andaman today, while one team left for Mumbai yesterday.
