Port Blair, Jan 29: The third day of meeting of the District Planning Committee for South Andaman District chaired by Smt Minati Biswas, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman resumed on 29th January, 2016 at 9.30 AM to discuss and deliberate the draft District Annual Plan (2016-17) of South Andaman District. The Chief Executive Officer (Ex-officio Secretary, DPC) Zilla Parishad welcomed the District Planning Committee members, special Invitees and other officers of Administration present in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the DPC Members, Officers, Mr N.K. Sharma, Secretary (Panchayat), Mr Ajay Kumar Singla, Secretary (Finance), Rakesh Bali, Secretary (Planning), Smt Tanvi Garg, Secretary-cum-Director (Education), Mr Ramesh Verma, Chief Executive Officer & Ex-Officio Secretary (DPC), Zilla Parishad Members, Municipal Councillors of PBMC , Pramukhs, Panchayat Samities, South Andaman and Heads of Departments of various Plan Implementing Department of A&N Administration.
During the meeting, the sectoral plan proposals /schemes and other developmental infrastructure of various departments i.e., Health, Education, Sports & Youth Affairs, Arts & Culture, JNRM, ANCOL, DBRAIT, Tagore College, Pay & Accounts, Electricity and Tourism were discussed.
During the discussion, the Heads/Officers-in-charge of the above departments briefed about their fund projection, plan schemes and physical target for Annual Plan (2016-17). The suggestions/recommendations made by the District Planning Committee Members were deliberated and discussed elaborately and the Heads of departments assured that any points/proposals not included in the draft Annual Plan 2016-17 shall be included. The DPC will continue on 01.02.2016 to discuss draft Annual Plan 2016-17 of the departments of Information & Publicity, Govt. Press, Transport, Civil Aviation, Shipping, Port Management Board, Disaster Management, Revenue & MGNREGA, PBMC and RD, PRIs & ULBs.
