Port Blair, Jan 11: The PCC President Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma with a delegation consisting PRI members and ladies of Tirur and Colingpur villages met Shri Rajesh Mallick, Director General of Police, A & N Islands on 8/1/2016 and highlighted the hardships being faced by the villagers especially the ladies and children due to frequent sighting of Jarawa tribes in these villages.
The PCC President informed the DGP that the ladies and children are much frightened as the Jarawa tribes destroy their crops and some time take away their belongings from the houses. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, PCC President requested the DGP to look into the matter and provide adequate police patrolling for the protection of the villagers.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with the father of the 13 year old boy of Chowdari who had kidnapped recently with the DGP and urged to initiate appropriate action to solve the case at earliest since it is the first instance in these islands. The DGP after giving a patient hearing assured appropriate early action in the above issues.
