Port Blair, Jan 04: The Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council Smti Sheela Singh today inspected Haddo, Ward No:1 & 2 where 6-7 shops were gutted in the fire accident. The Ward Councillors of the respective areas and officials of the Council were also present. A land in front of Public Health Centre, Haddo was identified for construction of shop rooms to accommodate the above shop owners.
Necessary directions were also issued to the Executive Engineer(works), PBMC and the concerned Assistant Engineer(Works) to take necessary immediate steps to start the construction work without any further delay so that the victims can be allotted new shops.
The Chairperson, PBMC then enquired about the arrears of revenue due from the entire municipal shops. Necessary directions were issued to the Revenue Officer of the Council to check the record and issue notices to all the shop owners to clear the dues immediately.
