Diglipur, Jan 03: A demonstration on bio-pesticides was organized in the field of Shri Bablu Sikder at Subashgram at 10.00 AM by the Agriculture department in association with Union Territory Agricultural Technology Management Agency (UTATMA).
At the outset, Smt. R. Bhu Bharthy, Agriculture Assistant welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of bio-pesticides and its usage for safe environment.
During the technical session, Shri Dinesh Ch. Das, AA emphasised on improving the soil health by judicious use of inorganic fertilizers along with organic amendments. Smt S. Manju, AA focused on use of bio-pesticides as one of the component along with other IPM methods. Practical demonstration on preparation of neem-cow urine-extract was carried out by Shri Limpas Xalxo, Assistant Technology Manager (ATMA).
Smt Alpana Mondal, Pradhan, Subashgram Gram Panchayat expressed her happiness on the conduct of the demonstration by the Department and urged the farmers to reap the benefits of the various schemes of Agriculture Department.
In the evening, a demonstration on handling of bee-colonies was successfully conducted in the field of Shri Swapan Gharami at Laxmipur village. The programme was graced by the presence of Shri Sujan Kumar Das, Pradhan of Laxmipur Gram Panchayat.
During the programme Shri Dinesh Ch. Das, AA explained the scope and potential of bee keeping, various aspects of bee keeping, types of honey bees, rearing, care and maintenance of apiary.
In each demonstration, 20 participants along with farmer friends and PRI members actively participated .The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Smt. Sheema Devi, BTM (ATMA).
