Port Blair, Dec 29:The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad will be arriving here on Dec. 30 on a five-day visit to the Islands. Soon after arrival, the Minister will visit National Memorial Cellular Jail and lay wreath at Martyrs’ Column. Thereafter, he will inaugurate the serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) equipments BSNL, Telephone Exchange near DAG Colony on Dec. 30 at 12.15 pm.
The Minister will lay the foundation stone for new Telephone Exchange at Radhanagar, Havelock Island on Jan 1 at 11 am. The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray will also attend the function. The Minister will hold meeting with BSNL, DOT, NIC, Postal, IT Department in the conference hall of Megapode Resort on Jan 3 at 11.30 am. The Minister is also scheduled to visit various places of tourist interest in these islands before leaving for mainland on Jan 3.
