Port Blair, Dec 18: Under the Cooperative Development fund of NABARD, a PACS Dev. Cell had been set up for the revival and Development of PACS in A&N Island. A review meeting in this regard has been conducted on 18/12/15 at NABARD, R.O, Port Blair involving the stakeholders Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Direcor, A&N State Coop.Bank Ltd, Shri. H.B.Songadkar, General Manager, NABARD, Shri. Nipin Nag, Chairman, Netaji SCS Ltd, Shri. O.Abdul Aziz, Chairman, Bapujee SCS Ltd and Shri. K.Subramani, Paid Secretary, Tugapur SCS Ltd to review the progress in development of PACS. There are 46 PACS functioning in the Island affiliated to A&N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. A business development plan for 10 PACS have been prepared and being implemented through these PACS. A total of 05 No. PACS which have been dormant have been revived and now started functioning.
The new time line of the business for PACS have also been discussed to make all PACS vibrant and viable so that various nature of services can be provided to the farmers members of these PACS.
The GM, NABARD desired that the PACS Dev. Cell of A&N State Coop. Bank Ltd should play a vital role in the revival and development of all the PACS by implementing Business Development Plan in a time bond manner, he also assured that NABARD shall extend all help and supported for the development of PACS in this Island.
