Port Blair, Dec 15: Keeping safety as the prime focus, the Tourism Department has been facilitating OBM/FRP Boat Owners and Manufacturers in the Islands to complete the survey of their boats at the earliest. The FRP/OBM Boat Owners & Boat Manufacturers were advised to draw a schedule and complete the process of survey, within a time frame.
On the request of the Administration, in order to expedite the survey of the boats, IRS, Mumbai has deputed an IRS surveyor at Port Blair exclusively for this purpose. Accordingly, all FRP/OBM Boat Owners and Manufacturers were advised to initiate immediate action for survey of their boats taking full advantage of the additional IRS Surveyor at Port Blair.
The IRS officials have extended the stay of their Surveyor till 31st December, 2015 and have clarified that no further extension will be granted beyond 31.12.2015. Therefore, all the FRP/OBM Boat owners and Manufacturers are once again advised to take prompt action and get their boat surveyed by IRS at the earliest.
