Port Blair, Dec 14: On 11 Dec 15 the NCC Junior Division (Army) cadets of GSSS, HAVELOCK lead byNCC teacher Mr. Prakash Howladar conducted a Safai Abhiyan in between the Havelock market and Electric Power Plant. All solid garbages especially empty glass wine bottles, plastic water & soft drink bottles, plastic packing paper etc. were collected and handed over to Govind Nagar Gram Panchayat Havelock for safe dumping. The general public and Tourists at Havelock Island appreciated the effort.
An appeal was made to the islanders of Havelock to keep the Island clean by throwing garbage in proper places, dustbin etc. The local residents gave their whole hearted cooperation for the Safai Abhiyan. Refresments were provided to the cadets on completion of Safai Abhiyan.
