Port Blair, Dec 14: A group of 48 students and teachers from A&N islands currently at Delhi in connection with “National Kala Utsav” visited the Parliament House Complex at New Delhi on Monday and witnessed the Lok Sabha proceedings during Zero hour. The Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands accompanied the students during the visit and also arranged to make them meet Mr Hari Bhai P. Choudhary, MoS Home at Parliament.
Some of the students informed MP that they have not got opportunity to eat non-veg food for the last one week. The MP arranged them Chicken Biriyani made in the canteen of Parliament House to all the students and teachers. All the arrangements relating to parliament visit have been done by the MP. All the students expressed their happiness to get opportunity to visit Parliament and thanked MP for his support.
Most of the students have come to Delhi for the first time and the visit to Parliament is like dream come true for them. The students informed the MP that the authorities in Delhi have done good arrangement for their stay and food. Inlonti Mukti, a student of Model school said that this was an historic occasion to see the proceedings of the Parliament of the largest democracy of the world. Meeting the home minister was an inspiring moment for the students, she said. The students of the Islands from Webi School, Model School, Haddo S Tamil medium and Girls school reached Delhi on 6th Dec 2015 to participate at the National level Kala Utsav, in which Girls school created history by securing first prize in the visual art category.
